Mercedes has had her current bike for 3 years. It has served her well, and many, many miles were put on it.

Unfortunately, it's time on this earth has expired. We do not posses the tools to fix it (we tried!! we really did!) so we went forth to War-malt (as she calls it) and purchased a newer bigger bicycle.
She LOVES it!
(Look Mom, No HANDS!!)However, we learned an important lesson. You cannot take one child to get a bike and not get one for the other. It just doesn't work. Especially when that second child is younger and doesn't understand that his sister can get a bike but he can't. So, we caved.
Benji got his first big-boy bike and he LOVES it too!
It is so nice to have an area where they can ride their bikes outside during the summer.

Hooray for new bikes! We would spray paint the outgrown ones here for the younger guys. They never knew. lol
How fun. I bet it was the best day ever for them. Good exercise (ie way to wear them out). That's nice you have a good place for them to ride. We should probably get Eleanor a new one soon (she still has a plastic tricycle).
